Waiting in the pouring rain With nothing but a Lonely Street light

The darkness
Is a mere shroud
To cover everything of me
From my past,
Blinding me,
Obscuring the impending doom
That awaits my future.

And I’ve already apologized enough times
To keep myself from freezing over
In this burning Hell of life.
Dreams are what you make them,
But nightmares cannot be changed.

They can only be overcome.

As the rain pours down
It provides for me another way
To tell you that I’m sorry,
Yet I never quite will be.

How many times will I be forced to make decisions
Because of entrapment?
Because of you?
The only light I have
Is from a lonely street lamp
That stands alongside me
And misery.

Waiting in the pouring rain With nothing but a Lonely Street light
