The Way She Left Isn’t Right

The way he looked at her
as she left,
Her heels clicking softly on the
dense carpet,
The way she turned with the hint of a smile
As she waved goodbye,
Her honey curls framing
her sweet face-
Her skirt swishing quietly as he stays motionless,
Eyes glued to her as she leaves, “See you Monday.”
It was the way he looked at her leave that made my heart ache,
The way his eyes said “I love you”
And the way that she never looked back to see it,
The way she, in ignorant bliss,
Thought nothing but friendship.
It kind of reminded me of you
And how you never look back at me
And how I’m getting over that always hurting me.
But you never see the pain either.
