I want to go backwards
Not to, but just go.
Back into days when we’d talk about stuff
And laugh about things
And when we’d count down to ending calls
And such.
I’m left lonely just here
Thinking about you.
Miss me yet?

I miss the ghost of you
And your silhouette
In the slowly sinking sun
That mirrored my heart.
In the summer of sunsets and unrequited
I look back to those days hard.
Maybe if I dream hard enough,
I can take myself back
Like an elastic band stretched out farther than it should be.
Will I snap?
Or Will I go back?
