The Days I Miss

The days I miss are the days when we
Would go to the school we would stay in for months
And stayed far too late into the night
For it to be considered legal.
Riding longboards in the hallways
As the security cameras recorded the crime,
All the while as the balmy summer night
Helped us feel the butterflies of
Petty crimes in high school.

The days I miss are the days when
We shared bubble tea in small shops
Then immediately food-hopped to the nearest
Froyo place
To spend dollars and minutes and cares
On silly things,
Like raspberries and crushes and
Misinterpreted jokes.

The days I miss are the days
When I was the only one with you
As we walked the city
Watching the sun fall across the
Mountains that we climbed together.
The days when I
Was content with not knowing
Your feelings for
Me.
