Hailing Skies

Looking back on our sunnier times
It’s clear as day-
All you wanted was to be a little less lonely,
But you never wanted to be mine.

You were fine with being halfway done
And I shouldn’t have pushed you to complete me.

I still go through doors looking for people from the past
In reflections of the coffee shop windows that I pass
On the same route to work.

When the sky rains it pours
And your feelings grown cold chill the tears to hail
As they say their final goodbyes to hail
The man that I once knew.

Hailing Skies
