This Poem Loves You Though You May Not Love Yourself

This poem is for the girls
Who have never been asked to a single dance,
For the boys
Who have never gotten a chance to hold hands
With someone else.
This poem is for the ones
Who feel unloved and unwanted-
This poem is to undo
Those feelings.

This poem is for the ones who
Microwave hot pockets at twelve A.M.
With no one to keep them company
Save for the soft buzzing of the dull TV.

This poem is for the ones
Who have ever looked over the freeway
With the desire to jump.
This poem is here to tell you
That you matter,
That you are cared for,
That you
Are loved.

This poem is the honey for the scars on your wrist,
The tissues you need after a bad breakup,
The reminder that You
Are worth so much more
Than words can ever offer.
