A Committed Relationship With Death and the Implications That Follow

It’s hard to share a story
Because you know-
At the end of the day,
They just don’t “get” it.

And it’s oddly consoling
But not so very helpful
To remember that no matter what,
You get yourself.

Because sometimes the only thing you want to do
Is to leave yourself behind
Like all the doubts don’t matter
And have someone else take your place temporarily,
Or maybe even forever.

But the only solution
Is one that lasts-
And even then, they metaphorically say-
It’s still you,
Taking your life.
