Fix Me

Fix me
And the broken promises that I
Never intended to break.
Missing you was easier when it was half hearted.
But reality sets in like
The the thunder after rain.

Breathing seems harder with or without
You,
And the worst thing to happen was, despite everything,
Meeting you.
Losing you was just a consequence of loving you,
I guess.

All I can do now is wish
That you and I never met,
Like reversing time that doesn’t exist.
Everything about us is a paradox I’m trying to fix.
But riddles without solutions
Are like puzzles missing a single piece.
We’ll never be more than what we are now
And yet we will never be less than what we once were.
