Factual Inaccuracies

I say I hate you
To keep myself a little guarded.
I’ve never been one to risk it all
And I play my cards unwillingly
Like there is more to the fire
Than the flame itself.
I’d love to hate you
But I can’t bring myself to.
I hate you
But I don’t.

What I hate is
The fact that all things come
To an end,
Although the bad
Will end
So will we
Whether it be in eighty years
Or six months.
I never like to lose
But this one time
I think that losing you
Will really mean
Losing myself.
